Jim and Kris Cooper, owners of Anchorage Farm, will host a 31st Anniversary Party on Saturday, June 9, 2012, from 5-10pm in the indoor arena at 12889 S. Parker Avenue, Pine, CO  80470.

The party will include food, music, dancing and a simultaneous big-screen slideshow of photos of students over the last 31 years.  Past students are warmly invited to an evening of reunion and reminiscence.  The public is also invited.  All you need to do is RSVP Kris@AnchorageFarm.com.

Anchorage Farm is an equestrian facility and B&B operated continuously at the above address near Shaffers Crossing, between Conifer and Bailey, since 1981.  Always with dressage (French for training) as a foundation, Jim and Kris

  • Stood 3 Arabian stallions and participated in Arabian breed shows 1981-96,
  • Served as outfitter-guides in the Pike National Forest 1990-2002,
  • Operated “After School at the Stable” and summer Horse Camps continuously since 1992,
  • Hosted bi-monthly dressage clinics with guest instructors since 1996,
  • Hosted three Rocky Mountain Dressage Society sanctioned shows annually since 2008.

Jim and Kris have taught over 3000 students at this location in the past 31 years.  They have introduced people to the responsibilities of horse ownership.  They have instilled a correct riding foundation along with an unfailing compassion and commitment toward the horse.  They have promoted youth confidence, work ethic, teamwork and leadership.  Former students now operate their own boarding facilities and training operations.  Some compete internationally in dressage.  Others excel in a myriad of other fields and endeavors.

The non-profit organization, Centaur Rising, operates at Anchorage Farm.  It's always been a financial challenge to maintain quality school horses and facilities year-round.  The recession has made it nearly impossible.  Your donations are ESSENTIAL for Centaur Rising's community horse programs to continue.
